   Ms. Louko has been teaching at Abington High School since 2006. She is an active member of the Abington High community. This year Ms. Louko is teaching English courses at the 10th and 11th  grade levels. Ms. Louko holds a Bachelors Degree in English at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH and a Masters Degree in Education from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA, her hometown. She is currently working towards a Masters Degree in English at Simmons College in Boston, MA.

 


American Literature Minimize

      American Literature is taught at the eleventh grade level. This course allows students to work on mastering advanced vocabulary and fine tuning their individual writing process in conjunction with reading and analyzing past and present American literature. The class will work to focus on deciding which issues drive America forward and which hold America back.

Sophomore English Minimize
           Sophomore English enables students to work on more independent reading and writing as well as discussion and presentation skills. In this course students read and analyze a variety of fiction, nonfiction, poetry and drama from the text. Also, six longer works are covered outside of the text. In the sophomore year, English students also publish an anthology of their own original poetry and complete an outside reading project on a book of their choice.
