Our current topics of study...

Social Studies = Ancient Israelites -We are finishing our brochures that we have been creating using Microsoft Publisher. We are starting Chapter 4, where we are learning about the ancient Greeks.

Science = Animals

Reading = We just finished reading Number the Stars. We are also reading a variety of short stories in our literature book and students are working on Egypt Game book reports.

Language Arts = Figurative language, action and linking verbs. We are also using Microsoft Publisher to create newspapers for the book Number the Stars

Math = We just finished the Mid-Year test. We will be starting Unit 6.

            

               

 

Specialist Schedule:

Monday = Technology

 Tuesday = Music

Wednesday = Health

  Thursday = Gym

Friday = Art

Tonight's Homework

Reading: The Egypt Game; Finish WTK for The Fun of It and vocab activity

Language Arts: Spelling test on Friday; Finish rough draft of Article #1 for NTS

Math: none

Science: Finish BSW; Review and Reinforce; Vocab for Insect Ecology

Social Studies:Brochure - Due next week.

Long Term Projects

The Egypt Game Book Report - Students are creating board games based on the book, The Egypt Game. They have been provided with a rubric and timeline for when chapters of the book should be read. The board game is due February 28th. 

 

 

 

Hooked on Books

Students must read at least 5 books per term. Once they have completed a book, they should complete a  "Hooked on Books" bookmark, have it signed by a parent, and turn the bookmarks in to me. They will then earn a homework pass. Keep reading!
