Goals & Objectives


FINANCE Minimize

 

To obtain equitable, predictable, and sustainable funding for all educational programs, services, and facilities.

 

¨       Participate in and support efforts to secure resources to fund the “Massachusetts Education Reform” and “No Child Left Behind” initiatives.

¨       Influence the state legislative process to provide adequate chapter 70 aid.

¨       Communicate and advocate for adequate local funding to support school programs and facility needs.

   

 


COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS Minimize

 

To build on a tradition of community support.

¨       Communicate more effectively our schools’ successes and challenges.

¨       Provide more opportunities for members of the community to participate in the life of our schools.

¨       Develop in our students an awareness of their responsibility to participate in their community.

 


STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT Minimize

 

To improve student performance and achievement across the curriculum

 

¨       Increase the number of students who perform at the proficient or advanced levels in English/Language Arts (ELA) and Math as measured by the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System(MCAS).

¨       Support a diverse educational and co-curricular program.

¨       Analyze and use data to make informed instructional decisions.

 

 


TECHNOLOGY Minimize

 

To integrate the use of technology to improve teaching and learning.

¨       Provide professional development in the use of technology.

¨       Add necessary infrastructure in all school buildings.

¨       Acquire equipment/software to improve our students to computer ratio.

¨       Create a process to evaluate use of technology. 

 


FACILITIES Minimize

 

To provide appropriate school facilities.

¨       Complete a master facilities’ plan.

¨       Secure the necessary votes to support the recommended option(s) for the renovation, expansion, or construction of school facilities.

¨       Present and have accepted required School Building Assistance (SBA) applications.

¨       Begin work on approved projects as soon as financially possible.

¨       Maintain, configure, renovate, and expand existing facilities to meet immediate student needs.

 


CITIZENSHIP Minimize

 

To promote the development of students as compassionate and respectful citizens.

¨       Foster tolerance and respect for differences within the school community.

¨       Continue the development of the skills necessary to act in a safe and responsible manner.
